Volunteers are the heart and soul of any non-profit and we are no exception! Our entire staff is made up of dedicated volunteers that donate countless hours and personal funds to keep the entire rescue maintained.
Are you interested in joining us in our mission? We happily accept volunteers every day of the week.
If this sounds like something you are up for, please continue reading!
You may email one of our Staff Volunteers with any questions or to set up a time to come volunteer!
PLEASE NOTE: Prior to volunteering, please let us know if you have any allergies that may preclude you from volunteering. We work with our birds very closely and do not wish to aggravate any condition.
We love having seniors out to complete hours for their senior projects! Let us know what your topic is and we can tailor your hours so you get the most out your experience!
Need a mental health boost? A little time just to get out and "do" something? Enjoy donating your time to animals in need? We hear you loud and clear, it is how we all started here as well. It's hard work, but they will always make you smile.
We have an hour requirement for adoption for most of our parrots, please email us to set up your hours.
We accept community service personnel as well, let us help you get your service hours fulfilled.
This is required for all Volunteers and are available on site.
We are an outdoor facility. As such, much of our work is outside. Please dress accordingly. Comfortable clothes are highly recommended. Often our work is dirty, so if you would prefer to wear work gloves, we encourage you to bring your own. HOWEVER, gloves are NOT PERMITTED when working up close with the parrots. This is for your safety as well as the birds. Many parrots are fearful of gloves and may become agitated or violent at the presence of them.
This is a requirement. Our work usually consists of working outside and with animals. To minimize risk, close toe shoes are recommended for volunteer work. Flip Flops and sandals are NOT acceptable attire.
Although not required, it is recommended that you wear long pants.
Parrots are sensitive to odors and some of our staff suffer from allergies. Please refrain from wearing any perfume, cologne, body spray or strong smelling anti-perspirant/deodorant while on the premises.
If you are volunteering for required hours (community service, senior project, adoption requirements), please be sure to bring any of your required documentation for us to fill out.
